Pain has an
address.
Cause has
another one.

Functional physiotherapy means we start where the movement breaks down, not where the ache announces itself. One therapist, one room, your full appointment, no rotation through a waiting hall.

01 The name is the method

Most people arrive naming a place. We start by naming a movement.

A shoulder that hurts overhead is rarely a shoulder problem. It is a rib, a hip, a habit, and a shoulder that finally ran out of compensations.

Functional physiotherapy treats the body as one connected chain rather than a collection of parts. The examination looks at how you actually load, rotate and brace, because that is where a symptom is manufactured, often far from where it is eventually felt.

Practically, that means the first session spends real time on assessment before anything gets treated. It also means the exercises you leave with are chosen for your chain, not printed from a folder.

Funktionell, adjective
Concerned with how a structure works under load, as opposed to how it looks at rest. The distinction is the entire practice.

06:30first slot

Treatment that happens before work, not instead of it. The practice opens at half past six, Monday through Saturday, and the last slot runs to eight in the evening. Rehab tends to fail on scheduling long before it fails on technique.

03 The room, unretouched

One table, one rack, and enough floor to actually move.

No reception desk, no queue, no second patient waiting behind a curtain. These are the actual treatment rooms on Sophie-von-La-Roche-Straße.

04 What a first visit looks like

Four steps, roughly in this order, adjusted to what we find.

01

You talk, at length

When it started, what makes it worse, what you have already tried, and what you actually need to get back to. Sport, a job, a staircase, a child on one hip.

Anamnesis

02

We test the chain, not the spot

Loaded movement, range, stability and control from the foot upward. The point is to find which link gave way first and which one is quietly paying for it.

Assessment

03

Hands on, then load on

Manual work to give the tissue room to move, followed immediately by loading it so the nervous system keeps the change. Relief that is not trained tends not to stay.

Treatment

04

You leave with two or three things, not twenty

A short, specific home programme you will realistically do, plus a clear idea of what should change by the next session and what should not.

Between sessions

05 Getting an appointment

The sign on the door says WhatsApp. It means it.

A message gets answered between patients. A phone call during a treatment does not, because the treatment does not get interrupted. Write when it suits you, including at half past six in the morning.
